I wanted to let the form dissolve into the dark and finding just enough light to hold this pup together. I felt this painting creates the essence of patience with a touch of proper, juxtaposed by the dog being slightly scruffy.

The canvas board itself is 5x7”, and the frame is about an inch wide.
