Victorian Brass Finger Plate

Antique brass finger plates, or push plates, were most popular during the Victorian era (c. 1837–1901), continuing through the Edwardian period and into the early 20th century (1850s–1950s). These plates were used for both protection against wear-and-tear and as decorative, status-signaling hardware for residential doors.
